Many local organization records have been digitized, while a larger number remain in print within our library, including collections of organization records, business records, government documents, and personal papers.
Vertical files contain newspaper clippings, researchers’ notes, and other miscellaneous information. The collection is divided into numerous subjects, including biographies, architecture, churches, houses, and more.
Among the thousands of burials at Union Cemetery, there are 275 veterans who served our country. 20 of these veterans died while in service and are considered Gold Star Veterans.
The goal of this page is to record the life and death of these veterans who died in service–making them real people and not just a name on a tombstone.
